Eggs summary
Eggs is a book about a boy named David and a girl named Primrose. Nine-year-old David is going on an Easter egg hunt after a family tragedy. He doesn’t want to go. He's never wanted to go anywhere since April 29th. His grandmother simply makes it worse. As the egg hunt begins, David trips over a body, but who's body? When he goes to the library, he sees something very shocking. David later goes to see a fortune teller, and there he meets Primrose, along with Refrigerator John, but will they be friend, or foe?

Eggs is a so-so book. Jerry Spinelli’s website is funny and updated, this made me laugh and told me facts about the book and about Jerry Spinelli. Eggs is a short story and very easy to read. I believe many young kids or adults that don’t have time to read will enjoy this book. On the other side, the title has nothing to do with the book, there are no eggs in the story, except people throwing eggs at Primrose’s window. I don’t like the “waving man” because when Primrose and David try to walk to Philadelphia to see the “waving man”, Jerry Spinelli wasted many pages. I recommend this book to people older than 8. Jerry Spinelli is a great author, but he is not my kind of author. |

I liked Eggs because it was kind of funny and Jerry Spinelli was good at introducing the characters also it's name didn't explain much which made me want to read the book more. However what could have been better was if Jerry Spinelli wrote the book a little less from Davids point of view. I recommend this book to kids ages 9 and up. |

What I liked about this book was that it was funny and I liked the characters too. I really liked th part when Primrose and David were going to the mid summer night scream and David needed a parent to go with him and his dad only came on weekends and he didn't want his grandmother to go with him, so Primrose decided to pretend to be his mother because David's mom died. So Primrose dressed up like an old lady and took David to the mid summer night scream but started annoying him when they got there. I think the book should have more exciting parts but it was a good book.

Eggs is a fantastic book. It's weird and interesting how there are crazy people, like Madame Dufee. It's also funny sometimes when David and Primrose got into a fight. The author made the characters interesting, since a normal nine-year-old boy wouldn't sneak out at night, and a normal thirteen-year-old girl wouldn't hate her mother. This book could be better if the author wrote more about what the book has to do with the title. I recommend this book to people ages 9-10. * * * * |
Primrose
Primrose has long brown braided hair, brown eyes, and is mostly found on roller skates. She lives on Tulip Street in a broken down van close to her mother’s house, where she used to live. She moved out because it was small, she had to sleep with her mother, and Primrose does not like her. Primrose’s neighbour’s name is Refrigerator John.
